Prepare the stuffing, and layer a bake pan with a thin/medium layer of Wine Leaves after boiled for 2 hours (to soften), placing the stuffing inside:
Wrap the stuffing with more leaves, and once completely covered, pour half a cup of lemon juice, and a quarter cup of olive oil on top:
Then double boil it in a large pot for about an hour, and Voila' *
A family member asked us to make her some of our home made Warag 3enab cake (Wine Leaves cake). We actually started using Silg instead, which is a type of leaf, muuuuch softer and 10 times tastier than wine leaves, i'd recommend anyone to substitute the two. It isn't a sweet, sugar based cake, it's a savory dish which just looks like a cake. The stuffing inside is rice based, spiced up with herbs and such. Very different, and tres' #Devine. xx N
